ROADS, the new Renault Group driving simulator

The proximity between aeronautical and automotive simulators is striking, as they share the same fundamental objective: to faithfully recreate the driving or flying experience. Both sectors use sophisticated systems for training and research. In aeronautics, flight simulators provide a safe environment for analyzing complex maneuvers, managing emergencies and ensuring pilot proficiency. Similarly, advanced automotive simulators are crucial for analyzing critical situations and testing new technologies, such as driver assistance systems (ADAS).

They incorporate motion platforms to simulate acceleration and vibration, high-fidelity visuals and a highly realistic control interface. These tools enable engineers to assess ergonomics and human factors well before final production, underlining a common development methodology and constant technology transfer.

On this theme, the Ile-de-France Group of the French Aeronautics and Astronautics Association (3AF) invites you to visit Renault's new driving simulator at the Guyancourt Technocentre .

Presentation - Designed to develop and test ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and autonomous driving systems, the ROADS simulator (Renault Operational Advanced Driving Simulator) is proving to be an excellent tool for optimizing safety. It lets you drive the digital twin and test all kinds of situations, including the most dangerous. It is the ideal complement to time-consuming and costly road tests. The ROADS simulator occupies a 2,300 m² space at the heart of the Technocentre in Guyancourt (Yvelines).
