Space exploration is once again a hot topic, with plans for lunar bases, distant probes and voyages to Mars. And nuclear power for space exploration is once again a hot topic. The USA, Russia and now China have all embarked on the development of new space nuclear systems for power generation and space propulsion, some of which are aiming for a demonstration in orbit or on the surface of the moon within the next ten years.

What major exploration projects are underway? What energy needs will nuclear power have to meet ? What technologies are available to French research centers and industry ?

This exceptional workshop, featuring discussions with numerous experts,is organized in collaboration with 3AF (Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France). Access is open to all, and free for Sfen and 3AF members.
