Fields of activity:

Propulsion is recognized as a critical technology by all countries, insofar as it determines the mobility and performance of aerospace systems. Like all 3AF Commissions, the Propulsion Commission is concerned with the two pillars of aerospace activity: civil and military aeronautics and space. With this in mind, it pays particular attention to the following engines:

  • Aerobic: turbojet, turboprop, turboshaft, ramjet and super ramjet, detonation wave engines;
  • Anaerobic: solid-propellant rocket motors, liquid-propellant rocket motors and hybrids, electric space thrusters. The scope of the Propulsion Commission covers all technologies, design resources, operational aspects, test resources and instrumentation for propulsion systems. Its vocation is to promote research, development and implementation of improved or new concepts and the technological solutions associated with them, by ensuring an active link between the worlds of academia, end-user research and industry.

Activities :

Evening lectures: approximately four to five times a year, these lectures deal with a particular topic in the field of propulsion. They are sometimes organized jointly with other Technical Commissions.

Organizers:

Chairman: Michel DESAULTY

Vice-Chairman: Christophe BONHOMME
